Facilitating assessment and mainstreaming processes with a focus
on gender and HIV/AIDS
Verona Groverman has been involved in various mainstreaming processes
in which she gained a strong ability to address different aspects
of this complex process. Her long term support relates to policy
and strategy development, planning, capacity building, and institutional
aspects. Her short term inputs focus on gender as well as HIV and
AIDS. They include strengthening capacities of the key personnel
in gender and HIV/AIDS mainstreaming and assessing the functioning
of an organisation (gender or HIV/AIDS assessment). She applies
specific models for organisational assessment, one of which developed
by herself, and uses different participatory methods to involve
people concerned in the assessment.

Capacity
building
Verona Groverman is a qualified trainer and facilitator with a track
record of preparing, delivering and facilitating training and workshops
of different nature and of various content. She often works at the
interface of social and technical fields, mostly with a gender focus.
Her specific capabilities lie in addressing sensitive issues such
as gender, HIV and AIDS, and in developing training programmes and
methods which appeal to the participants. She is experienced in
designing and producing training materials and manuals.

Conducting evaluations
of programmes, projects and policies and
supporting
monitoring and evaluation
Verona Groverman has been involved in a number of assignments on
project and programme evaluation and impact study as a team leader
and team member. In her evaluation approach she aims at clear outcomes
which lead to realistic lines of thinking and acting for the future.
She underlines the learning aspect of evaluation for all the parties
concerned, including the evaluation team. During her long-term work
in projects and short-term assignments she designed participatory
monitoring and evaluation systems for management, staff and target
group level.

Assisting
in policy and strategy development, planning and institutional issues
Verona Groverman's support to projects, organisations and networks
aims at clear and practical outcomes ranging from jointly developing
a clear strategy to assisting in the development of appropriate
roles of and linkages between institutional units. Almost 30 years
of experience has resulted in strongly developed communication and
facilitation skills and in the ability to deal with sensitivities
and to bring different stakeholders on the same line of thinking.
Her work often lies at the interface between social aspects and
technical aspects, for instance in integrated water management,
food security and natural resources management.
