In February 2012 finalised a feasibility study on the use of metal silos to reduce post-harvest losses of grains in the Central Corridor of Tanzania (January - February 2012). These metals silos had been successfully introduced and widely accepted and appreciated by small-holding families in Central America. The prospects in Tanzania appeared positive.
Finalised an end evaluation of a women's empowerment project in Zanzibar with a focus on saving & loan schemes; marketing; and social action (Field work in November 2011). Good and remarkable results were observed in terms of social empowerment; economic empowerment appeared more complicated due to economic and social factors.
Finalised a study to explore the market opportunities of the Schorer Approach, a comprehensive approach focusing on supporting NGOs/CBOs worldwide engaged in HIV/STI prevention for LGBT (June - October 2011). It included recommendations on how to bring the Approach to the attention of potential users (NGOs/CBOs), international and regional organizations/ institutes involved in capacity strengthening and advocacy on LGBT health and well being issues, and, last but not least, funders. Use was made of Survey Monkey for online data collection.
