| Experiences in the Netherlands
Verona Groverman has been involved in several assignments in the
Netherlands. Apart from support to Dutch organisations in the
field of development co-operation (see her c.v.) she assisted
Dutch organisations in processes of change at municipal and provincial
level. Characteristic of her approach is promoting the involvement
of different stakeholders and their exchange of ideas and perceptions
through a careful choice of methods.
2000 (Oct. –
Dec.)
Facilitator in a participatory study on the relationship of local
and government initiatives focusing on promoting the quality of
life in rural areas in the North of the Netherlands. The study involved
among others interviews and group discussions with a variety of
stakeholders. The outcome was meant for policy improvement. (ETC/Province
Groningen).

– 1999 (March)
Advisor and facilitator in a process of developing policy concerning
ethnic minorities. A step-by-step approach was designed in which
different stakeholders could express their perceptions, opinions
and ideas using a variety of methods. The outcome was an action
plan based on the different inputs produced by municipal staff.

Participatory study into urban settlement preferences and facilitator
in discussion sessions with different stakeholders using a variety
of methods to create insight in each others’ perceptions
and opinions. The outcome contributed to a broader plan of action
(Urban Implant Development, Bussum/ Municipality Amsterdam ).
